Yes. Property income and self-employment income each need their own quarterly update stream. Structuring it correctly before the first submission matters.
Not yet. Between £30,000 and £50,000, you join in April 2027. Starting your software setup now means less pressure when the threshold catches you.
Submissions go through HMRC-approved software. Xero, QuickBooks, and FreeAgent are the most widely used. We’re a Xero Silver Partner with specific MTD ITSA experience and will handle the onboarding from day one.

Yes. The FHL regime was abolished on 5 April 2025. Your holiday let income now falls under standard property income rules with different expense treatment and its own MTD rental income stream from April 2026. If you haven’t reviewed your setup since the change, do that before your first submission.
In 2026/27, HMRC’s soft landing covers late quarterly update points only. Inaccuracies and late Final Declarations carry penalties from day one. From April 2027, four missed submissions in a rolling 12 months triggers a £200 fine, with a further £200 for each miss after that.
