Our UK approach

Senior, named, regulated tax advisers.

Every engagement is led by a named senior adviser, not a rotating junior team. We are an ICAEW member firm with CIOT and ATT-registered specialists, three UK offices and a deliberate boutique scale that keeps partner-led work on every brief. No junior-led delivery hidden behind a partner name.

We sit between the Big Four (scale, no named partner) and small specialist boutiques (single specialism). The space gives clients senior depth on tax, finance leadership, advisory and audit without the rotating-team friction.

What UK clients say

Three engagements, three outcomes.

Names have been anonymised at client request. Sector, year and outcomes are real.
"We came in expecting a £4.2m IHT bill on a family estate with two BR-eligible trading companies. Fahad's team restructured the holdings, modelled the seven-year taper on lifetime gifts, and got us to a six-figure liability without anything contrived. The engagement letter was the cleanest I have read."
A.M. · Family principal · UK estate planning · 2025
"HMRC opened an R&D enquiry on our merged-scheme claim three weeks after filing. Syed's team rewrote the technical narrative, defended every qualifying activity against the BEIS guidelines, and the claim was paid out in full eleven weeks later. We have used them for every claim since."
R.S. · CTO · UK SaaS, Series B · 2025
"I was preparing to sell a Bolton manufacturing business after twenty years. Junaid mapped the BADR position, ran the share scheme exit timing for the management team, and coordinated with the buyer's tax team without a single back-and-forth that needed me. We closed at the headline number, with the after-tax position I had planned for."
D.H. · Outgoing owner · UK manufacturing · 2024

UK regulators and tax landscape

The UK tax changes we are watching for 2026 to 2027.

A short brief on what is changing in UK tax, each regulator named and each rule cited by date. Updated quarterly by our UK Lead Partner.

HMRC focus areas

R&D enquiries are rising under the merged scheme effective 1 April 2024. The Additional Information Form is now mandatory. Inheritance tax compliance and the post-April-2025 non-dom regime are the other priority enquiry channels.

ICAEW and CIOT guidance

ICAEW Practice Assurance reviewed by member firms continues; PCRT remains the benchmark for tax adviser conduct. CIOT branch technical notes cover the FIG regime and statutory residence test edge cases.

Companies House reform

The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 phases in identity verification for directors, PSCs and filing agents through 2026. Owner-managed firms should plan for the next filing cycle now.

FRC audit thresholds

Statutory audit thresholds: turnover over £10.2m, balance sheet total over £5.1m, or more than 50 employees. Two of three triggers audit. Internal audit best practice continues to follow Three Lines of Defence.

Frequently asked questions

Non-dom, expat and UK tax questions, answered.

Pulled from real consultation calls. Answers verified against HMRC guidance and CIOT technical notes.

Yes. Legend Fusions Limited is an ICAEW member firm. Tax specialists are CIOT and ATT-registered. Audit work falls within FRC eligibility. Member registration is verifiable on the relevant body’s online directory. Full credentials sit on each adviser’s profile page.
A UK tax adviser is qualified by the CIOT or ATT and works on strategy, planning and HMRC dispute defence, not only the year-end return. Accountants prepare statutory accounts and tax returns; tax advisers structure the tax position before the year is closed and respond to HMRC enquiries when they open.
Yes. The remittance basis was replaced by the four-year foreign income and gains (FIG) regime from April 2025. We help non-doms model whether the FIG window applies, how the transitional rules affect existing rebased assets, and how to structure offshore trusts and pensions within the new framework.
Yes. The UK partner team coordinates with Legend Fusions USA on cross-border returns, FATCA reporting, dual-filer self-assessment positions and treaty claims. One engagement letter, one named lead, two coordinated specialists. No need to brief two firms.
The nil-rate band is £325,000 per individual and the residence nil-rate band is up to £175,000 when a main residence is passed to direct descendants, as of tax year 2026 to 2027. Inheritance tax is 40 percent above those bands. The seven-year taper rule applies to lifetime gifts. Business Relief and Agricultural Property Relief can reduce exposure further when the assets qualify.
An initial 30-minute consultation is offered at no cost so we can scope your situation and confirm fit. Engagements after that run on fixed fee, monthly retainer or scoped project. We quote the engagement before the first chargeable hour begins.

Stratford (Citygate House, 246-250 Romford Road, London E7 9HZ), Bolton, and Hounslow. All three offices are open weekdays. Video consultations are available on request from anywhere in the UK or abroad.
